Wood is one of the most widely used materials in Gloria Victis — gathered with an axe at lumbermills and out in the wilderness. Some recipes use it raw; others need it finished first. For the finishing process and the Carpentry Table, see Finishing Wood.

Types of wood

There are five tiers of wood:

• Common
• Quality
• Decent
• Great
• Excellent

Different tiers are used in recipes including weapons, tents, shields and bows, and to build and upgrade city structures and guild castles. Sometimes wood can be used raw, and sometimes it must be finished first — depending on the recipe.

Gathering wood

Wood can be gathered at Lumbermills and in the wilderness. Higher-tier wood has fewer spawns and is located in more heavily contested territory such as Hordun Temple, Lord's Wrath Abbey and Lordly Haven. Check the in-game map for resource cards at each location.
