Animals

Caring for farm animals through the Barn Manager — calling, grooming, vitality, and gathering eggs, milk, wool, pork and more.

The Barn Manager is an NPC found in the Capital City, near farms and at guild provinces — marked with a horseshoe icon on the map. He lets players care for farm animals.

By default you have 2 barn slots. More can be bought with Ambers in the Supporter Shop, or from the Market when available. Animals cost 5 silver each and include:

  • CowCow — milk.
  • ChickenChicken — eggs.
  • GoatGoat — milk.
  • SheepSheep — wool.
  • PigPig — pork & exquisite venison.

Calling an animal

  • To call an animal, visit the Barn Manager and click "Call".
  • Only one animal may be called at a time.
  • Animals cannot be harmed by enemies or players.
  • While called, an animal automatically increases its Grooming level and automatically depletes its Energy level.
  • Players may interact with a called animal once per minute to Groom it.

Animal statistics

Grooming Levelthe green bar — increases the animal's happiness at the cost of Energy.

  • An animal may be groomed once per minute: one groom costs 5 energy and grants 5 Grooming.
  • Groom actions are Repel Insects, Feed with 1 Animal Fodder, or Clean.
  • Animals automatically gain 1 Grooming per minute as they wander.
  • Max Grooming is 100 — the level at which players gain the most resources.
  • Grooming is a linear scale: 73 Grooming = 73% of the max resources gathered.
  • Grooming decays over time, so check on your animals regularly.
  • Grooming and Vitality both affect resource output, but Grooming is the main factor.

Energy Levelthe yellow bar — when called, an animal begins expending Energy.

  • Each groom costs 5 energy.
  • At 0 energy the animal can't be groomed further and must be returned to the barn to rest and regenerate.
  • Max energy is 25.

Vitalitythe red bar — the animal's health and hit points.

  • As resources are gathered, vitality drops and will eventually reach 0.
  • Animals with lower vitality provide fewer resources than those with high vitality.
  • Max Vitality is 100. Vitality does not regenerate.

Vitality modifies how much of the Grooming-based resource gain you actually receive:

VitalityResource gain
75–100100%
25–7475%
0–2450%

So gathering from an animal with 73 Grooming and 100 Vitality yields 73% of its maximum resources (0.73 × 100% = 73%). A few more worked examples:

  • Grooming 100, Vitality 100 → 1.00 × 100% = 100%
  • Grooming 86, Vitality 75 → 0.86 × 100% = 86%
  • Grooming 81, Vitality 36 → 0.81 × 75% = 60.75%
  • Grooming 25, Vitality 50 → 0.25 × 75% = 18.75%
  • Grooming 12, Vitality 23 → 0.12 × 50% = 6%

Gathering from an animal

Each animal type has a cooldown of several hours between gathers. Keeping both Vitality and Grooming high ensures the best output of materials.

When an animal is ready for gathering it cannot be groomed first — when you call it, the only option is Gather.
