Good news for new players: PvP needs no grind. You can fight over locations from the moment you spawn, and the early game is built to ease you in. Here's the fastest path that doesn't lie to you about the difficulty.
The on-ramp
- Arena — from level 1. Duel, brawl and drill the combat mechanics against training NPCs as much as you like; it even pays character XP.
- Valley of Death Tournament — level 15. A safe, non-loot PvP event that runs several times a day (press U for the schedule). Your best first taste of real fights.
- Castle sieges — around level 20. The beginner questline reaches level 20 in roughly its first half-hour; sieges kick off right after each Valley of Death.
- Level 18 unlocks siege notifications and a direct teleport to besieged holds — below that you can still join any siege by fast-travelling close and riding in.
The beginner questline hands you tier-3 gear and can carry you to ~level 50 if you focus it — but it's not mandatory. You can walk into the Arena the minute you log in.
Finding the fight
- Watch the world map (M). Your nation borders two enemies — lit or burning location icons mean something's happening there.
- Use the Party Finder (P). Most parties are public; join one to see allies on the map and roll out together.
- Ride the Logistician. It fast-travels you to nation locations that aren't under attack — get close, then close the gap on horseback.
Zones — know before you die
| Zone | What it means |
|---|---|
| Safe zone | Your capital & respawn — your nation can't be harmed (you can still hit invaders). |
| Non-loot zone | PvP is on, but no one is looted on death. |
| War / loot zone | The map's centre and frontiers — you can be looted when you fall. |
The richest resources and the best events sit in the loot zone. The minimap shows your current zone — glance at it before you commit to a fight you can't afford to lose. Then drill the fundamentals in Combat Basics: block on time, watch your stamina, and don't spam swings.
